Disabled Adaptations

The Association is committed to the provision of adaptations in order to restore or enable independent living, privacy, confidence and dignity for individuals and their families.

The Association has an annual budget for funding adaptation sand will usually fund all minor adaptations such as extra banisters and grab rails The Association will act on Occupational Therapists recommendations for adaptations.

In order to maximise resources other sources of funding such as the Disabled Facilities Grant should be investigated to fund major adaptations such as level access showers.

In some cases a priority transfer to more suitable accommodation may be granted at the discretion of the Head of Housing Services. In these circumstances assistance with removal costs may also be granted.
